Tomorrow is Free Comic Book Day, and I CAN'T WAIT!! I wanted to let you all know what I have available for tomorrow so you know what you need to come get at Time Warp Comics in Boulder, CO.
First off, I am going to be doing free pencil sketch cards. And $5 Inked sketch cards.
Then:
I have 5 sets of Magicians Must Die #1-4 (only limited because I have only 5 of issue #1 left). I have plenty of issues 2-4. I will have two decks of the players MMD Midnight edition. THESE ARE THE ONLY TWO LEFT FOR SALE!! They are sold out on xtremehandz.com and they won't be available at Denver Comic Con this year either. All of these decks will be selling for $10 each!
I also have some of the uncut sheets from all issues of Magicians Must Die. They are selling for $50 for issues 2-4 and $100 for issue 1.
I will also have a series of 11x17 and 8.5x11 prints available. Some original Magicians Must Die artwork, and I will be opening a commission list for both tomorrow and for pick up at Denver Comic Con.

Hellboy: Inks!
So, I inked my Hellboy pencils. I think this came out pretty well. I am a fan of a LOT of what I have going on here. I really like the monster emerging from the darkness of the cabinet. I like the panel where Liz is lighting that monster on fire and Hellboy is reaching for the syrup. I LOVE the last panel. I think the overall set up of the first three panels works well, too.
If I would change one thing, I would close the top panel and open the last one. The change of envrionment from one room to the next in the last panel needs to show itself visually as a different space. I think it's semi-succesful with the cleanliness of the room compared to the kitchen. Had I opened and made that panel bleed then closed the top panel. The first environment would be closed panels and the new one would be a large open panel. I think that would have worked better, thoughts?

HELLBOY!!!: Progress Piece-Pencils
So, I went to Emerald City Comic Convention last weekend and got some AMAZING feedback from a lot of different editors. I decided to come home and do this Hellboy page. It's my own concept, script, and all. I went a little more detailed on the pencils because of a suggestion from the ever amazing Bob SchreK, editor at Legendary Comics, and I will be adding inks over the next couple of days. I hope you all enjoy.

MMD #4!!!! Denver Comic Con and Free Comic Book Day
So, here it is, the official post by De'vo about MMD #4. Check out the image on facebook, the Magicians Must Die website, or right here. Here is good, too. I am excited about this deck. I think it's some of the best art of the series. I am a HUGE fan of the box design. The Double cover is great. And I think this is going to be one of the absolute best stories so far, and it will prepare you for the final deck, Issue 5! How quickly you, the fans, get issue 5 depends completely on how quickly you buy this when it releases! PREPARE TO PURCHASE!!!...please.
Don't forget to come see me at Denver Comic Con this year! I am the featured badge artist (see my post on DCC website here: Jay Peteranetz), so I will have prints of the badges, and I will gladly sign your badges that weekend.
Finally, I will be at Free Comic Book Day at Time Warp Comics in Boulder this year. They were my VERY FIRST comic book store and the store owner Wayne Winslett was gracious enough to have me as a guest this year! I am overwhelmed with gratitude for his enthusiasm to have me there.

Concept Sketch
With more time one my hands lately, I have decided I want to do some more concept art. This was a concept idea I had and used a color palette I found online from Serenity Forge. This took me about 90 minutes start to finish. This was done completely in photoshop.

OMG! A POST!
Well, look at that...a post. Amazing isn't it? The problem I am running into at the moment is this: I CAN'T SHOW THE WORK I AM DOING! I am doing a lot of work right now for Denver Comic Con, and therefore I am under an NDA to not show any of the work. So, here's a one page comic I did with writer James W. Powell here in Denver. He is a great writer, and I had a lot of fun with this project.

Skull for Fun
This is a skull for a commission I am working on. There are going to be some really cool innards to this when it's finished. I am going to make this a really light outline so I can really focus on the inside. Will show more when it's finished.

Upcoming Events!
So, here is a great depature from my usual style. I am working on a more cartoony/cutesy style. This was for the Colorado Symphony Orchestra's Tribute to Comic Con V. 2. The event was a good success, and the syphony was amazing. I am going to be at the Pepsi Center with the Pop Culture Classroom again on the 29th of November for an event with the Colorado Avalanche. COME SEE ME!

Book Cover and MORE!
Talk about some work....I have been pretty busy getting a lot of small little art jobs as of late. It's been fun, but with the impending birth of my first son, it's been a little stressful. I finished the book cover for Thirty Days From Sunday by my brother Ronald Bryce (see image above).. I am truly looking forward to this book. It's Ron's debut novel, and it's going to release via Create Space on Amazon. I will have more information when it comes available.
I will also have a couple of illustrations included in a new anthology of stories called Scraping the Red Sky. I will have more information available on that when I know more too. I am also doing some comic pages, and illustrations for a pulp magazine. More info on that when it's available as well. For now, enjoy the Book cover, and come see me at Mile High Horror Film Festival at the Alamo Pubhouse in Englewood, CO, October 9-12!

The next issue of Magicians Must Die focuses on the love interest of our main character. So I need to brush up on my ladies. Here are a few to begin with...I have some work to do.

Groot Colors
I am feeling very productive over the past couple of weeks. I have finished a book cover, got to participate in Wake Up and Draw for Jack Kirby's birthday...and today... I got to color the Groot I did for the King's birthday. I am also going to be participating in The Mile High Horror Film Festival in October. And finally, I have a new illustration and comic gig for a local book. I'll show that soon.
