Skull for Fun

This is a skull for a commission I am working on.  There are going to be some really cool innards to this when it's finished.  I am going to make this a really light outline so I can really focus on the inside.  Will show more when it's finished.

Upcoming Events!

So, here is a great depature from my usual style.  I am working on a more cartoony/cutesy style.  This was for the Colorado Symphony Orchestra's Tribute to Comic Con V. 2.  The event was a good success, and the syphony was amazing.  I am going to be at the Pepsi Center with the Pop Culture Classroom again on the 29th of November for an event with the Colorado Avalanche.  COME SEE ME!

Book Cover and MORE!

Talk about some work....I have been pretty busy getting a lot of small little art jobs as of late.  It's been fun, but with the impending birth of my first son, it's been a little stressful.  I finished the book cover for Thirty Days From Sunday by my brother Ronald Bryce (see image above)..  I am truly looking forward to this book.  It's Ron's debut novel, and it's going to release via Create Space on Amazon.  I will have more information when it comes available.
I will also have a couple of illustrations included in a new anthology of stories called Scraping the Red Sky.  I will have more information available on that when I know more too.  I am also doing some comic pages, and illustrations for a pulp magazine.  More info on that when it's available as well.  For now, enjoy the Book cover, and come see me at Mile High Horror Film Festival at the Alamo Pubhouse in Englewood, CO, October 9-12!

Groot Colors

I am feeling very productive over the past couple of weeks.  I have finished a book cover, got to participate in Wake Up and Draw for Jack Kirby's birthday...and today... I got to color the Groot I did for the King's birthday.  I am also going to be participating in The Mile High Horror Film Festival in October.  And finally, I have a new illustration and comic gig for a local book.  I'll show that soon.

Book Cover

This is a book cover for a book my brother wrote.  It may not quite be finished yet, but it's in it's final stages of approval.  I am still working out the text and overall book design, but so far....I think this is one of the most innovative pieces I've done so far.  I am really loving the angle, and I think, for the first time, I am really figuring out the bird's eye perspective.  Seems like everything is starting to come together in this one.

Sketches and YOBOD

So, I wanted to thank everyone, including the students that came from all the recrecation centers, boys and girls clubs, the local schools, and more.  Thank you all for coming to enjoy everything that was presented.  For my part, I met a lot of very enthusiastic kids who were ready to suck the marrow out of life and make the next generation amazing!
Above, are a few sketches that I did as examples for the students.  How to break ruleson a face, but make sure everything was kept in line.
Thank you again!  I look forward to doing more events like this with the Pop Culture Classroom and The City and County of Denver.

Denver Comic Con Review and Freddy Horse!

Well, so Denver Comic Con this year was a HUGE success!!!  The Magicians Must Die booth was busy all weekend and I, personally, didn't get a break on Saturday until almost 3:00pm.  I was doing a good amount of commissions, signing a LOT of Magicians Must Die, and did a good amount of sketch covers for Issue #1.  It was AMAZING!  I LOVED IT!
The image above is the pair image for Jason Bear.  I did 25 prints of each, I am keeping one of each for myself, I gave one of each to the LaGreca brothers, of H2Awesome and Rock Comic Con, and only have 5 of the Freddy Horse print left.  They were both HUGE successes!  Thank you to all the Denver natives and horror fans for enjoying the prints!

Denver Comic Con and Friday the 13th

Things you need to know.  First off, what's more terrifying than Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th?  Jason Voorhees as a BIG BLUE BEAR!!!  Ok, maybe not, but I thought it would be pretty cool and it is.  This is going to be an exclusive print for my booth (which happens to be number 928) at Denver Comic Con this year.  I will be at a table with my Handlordz, LLC, and the Magicians Must Die team.  As far as this piece goes, the show opens on Friday June 13th, so I thought this all but appropriate.  I do need to know...how'd the fog at the bottom work out?

Strange Aeons Cover...IT'S OFFICIAL! And...a crazy plan for MMD and Big Bang Theory that NEEDS YOUR HELP!!

Check it out.  This is the official cover for Strange Aeons Magazine Issue #14.  I got to draw the cover and there is a feature article about Magicians Must Die with a short interview with both De'vo and I.  Please pick it up!  It will be available on the Strange Aeons Website, and at retailers around the Northwest USA.

Also, on another note...I had this crazy idea.  I would love to get Magicians Must Die onto Big Bang Theory.  I think it's possible, I even have a plot for the episode.  To get this done, we need to do a LOT of social media work for this, so here's the plan:
If you are on twitter: retweet everything I talk about with Magicians Must Die or @MagiciansMustD in the tweet and tweet it to @BigBang_CBS.
If you are on Facebook: Share everything about Magicians Must Die on your timeline, and Like everything about it on my timeline.
If you are on google+: +1 Everything about it.

LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN PEOPLE!!!

Preparing for Emerald City Comic Con

Excitement is in the air!  Emerald City Comic Con is coming up, and I am getting very excited about the trip.  I updated my business cards.  The images are above, and they will be here and ready by the convention.  What do you all think?  I went fairly simple on the back.  Makes it easier for me to add information for people if necessary.  The front image is keeping the theme of my detective guy, but pushing it towards a more rendered style.  I also dropped the Squirt Gun Studios aspect....it was time I think.

PS- On another note.  The company I do the comic book playing cards for is releasing two new flourish and card manipulation decks on Saturday, go check it out.  www.xtremehandz.com

Strange Aeons, the Super Bowl, and my trip to Seattle

Well, I got it colored and submitted.  The cover to Strange Aeons #13 is finished.  I can not wait to see it in print.  Here is another preview from the cover.  I hope you dig it.
The Super Bowl is over, and the Broncos lost....BIG TIME, that being said, there is always next year....
So I am looking for some help from some artists at Emerald City Comic Convention.  If you will be there, expect a visit from me with some boxes of Magicians Must Die #1 Sketch edition.  If you are willing to help one of the most innovative comics to release in a long time, please look upon me with a smile when I arrive at your table.  Thank you.

Magazine Cover, Super Bowl, and Emerald City Comic Convention

This is a small preview of a cover I am working on for a magazine out of the Northwest.  Unfortunately, it's the same region as the team the Broncos are going to play on Sunday in the Super Bowl.  I am pulling hard for the Broncos...unless the editor of the magazine sees this, then GO SEAHA----Nope, nope, I just can't do it.  GO BRONCOS!!! TRAMPLE THOSE BIRDS LIKE THE IMAGINARY BIRDS THEY ARE!!!!!!!!!  That is all, thank you for the opportunity to draw this cover.  I'll tell you more about it when I can, but the cover, and feature article are about Magicians Must Die, so please pick it up!  We'll also be at Emerald City Comic Con at the end of March promoting the comic and the magazine!!!
