Geneva Glen Young Alumni Beer Festival: Year 3!

As you can read on the two labels, these are inspired by the music of Geneva Glen.  The name comes from the Banjo Man, as he's been labeled at Geneva Glen, and one of the fan favorite songs.  The Geneva Glen Young Alumni group does this every year and these labels are always a blast to do. I gave myself a challenge on this image:  Don't use any containing lines what-so-ever.  This image was created entirely with black shapes on top of white shapes.  It was an exercise in composition and black and white placement.  I am a huge fan of Chris Samnee who does this type of drawing exquisitely!  So I wanted to give it a shot...not to bad for a first try!

Witchblade

So I just watched the first episode of the Witchblade anime on Netflix instant....that was a waste of about 25 minutes of my day. It was almost, and I say ALMOST, as bad as the live action version of the show from the late 1990s. I LOVE the comic, and I wish the rest of the entertainment media could find a way to do it justice....unless I missed something...anyone? All the girls that will be coming up are all commissions for a fellow artist on artistsmecca.com

Plava Laguna

This is yet another 90 minute sketch challenge. These are great! They really train you to think quickly, and as I go through these I am really learning what works best for me. Anyway, here she is the MOST INTERESTING CHARACTER EVER!!! Mainly because she's blue and sings Opera....from The Fifth Element....PLAVA LAGUNA!!

Embroidery design
