Broderick

Well, it's here and I can start talking about it, releasing it, sending sample copies, etc...  

BRODERICK: Broderick is the story of the muscle from a 1940s Chicago organized crime syndicate that got too violent.  So they decided to "take care of him" using the nuclear testing in New Mexico...but it doesn't.  So he returns to Chicago to "take care" of the family that tried to "take care of him."

The story is written by Ron Bryce.  He is the author of Thirty Days from Sunday, an Amazon CreateSpace published book that is AMAZING!  This is our second comic collaboration.  The first collaboration is a long lost book called The Prophecy.  It was printed in a series of comics by the now defunct Panther Comics (don't find it, it will only embarrass us...but if you do, LET US KNOW!!)

I am personally VERY proud of this book.  The story is stellar, Ron KILLED IT on this book.  I think I found a happy place for my art and my storytelling and I can not thank Ian Brill enough for his quick and extremely effective edits on this book.  THANK YOU, IAN!!!

Anyway, this will be debuting officially at Fort Collins Comic Con this weekend!  COME SEE US!!!

Denver Comic Con and Pride Month

So, Denver Comic Con is uniting with Denver Pride.  And in the wake of the shootings over the weekend, I wanted to get something put together as an exclusive print for this weekend, but ran out of time.  I will have this print available at my booth this weekend.  It's Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy celebrating their relationship.  Come see me at booth 217 to pick one up!

Hard Rock Cafe and Denver Comic Con

TWO POSTS IN ONE DAY?!  I got approval to share this today, so here it is.  I am doing the official Denver Comic Con Hard Rock Cafe T-shirt for this year's Denver Comic Con.  This image is going to be on the back of the Colorado Hard Rock shirts and available ONLY at Denver Comic Con this year.  I will be at the Hard Rock booth for about an hour each day, so come see me and get a shirt signed!  If you get the shirt, but don't see me at their booth, come see me at Booth 217!  I will have a full schedule of my weekend available when it's finalized!

Actuated Puzzle Box

This is the final piece in my Colorado Horror Statue series for this year.  Denver Comic Con is upon us and I need to focus on preparing my booth.  So, here it is, the actuated stairs that are in the Alameda Public Art District here in Denver.  I will have four of these this year with more to come in future years.  Come see me at booth 217 to pick yours up this weekend!

HULK SILHOUETTE!!

As the main event of the year: Denver Comic Con, approaches.  I have been receiving a TON of requests for illustrations.  Which has been great, but it's hurting my personal production a bit.  That's OK, because I'm getting paid. This is an illustration for an ad that will be appearing in the Westword next week.  I can't wait to see the finished product and I'll post it when it is printed.  ENJOY!!! and see you next week at Denver Comic Con booth 217!!

Magicians Must Die #5: THE FINAL ISSUE!

Let me tell you about one of the best projects I have been able to work on:  Magicians Must Die.  For those of you, that have followed this amazing journey, please take a minute to head to World Card Experts' store and pick up this amazing final issue.  For those of you new to Magicians Must Die, it is a world where Magicians are bored performing for others.  They kidnap others and put them in the illusions they create to see if they CAN escape.  If they don't, the magicians get an entertaining evening of death.  The story follows a card master and his sister that were kidnapped by the Magicians and taught the ways of their illusions.  There is plenty of action, a great world building introduction, and some great creatures and characters.  Please pick up your copy, or your set, of Magicians Must Die, today!  We will also have the entire run available at Denver Comic Con June 17-19, at Booth 215 and 217!!

New Prints! and New Appearences!

Hi! I am going to be doing two new 11x17 prints for future shows.  These are the two.  I have put up the Groot before, but I am now making it an official print.  

The Harley and Ivy is in celebration of the new decision by the Supreme Court to allow Marriage of all kinds in all states.  There is no more discrimination just because you want to marry the person you love.  A same sex partner now gets the same benefits in hospitals, healthcare, taxation, etc...that any other married couple gets. It's a MAJOR win for the USA and for the equal rights of ALL citizens!  Congratulations USA!

Denver Comic Con 2015 Review...kind of

Holy amazeballs!  What a convention.  Well, Denver Comic Conventions 2015 has wrapped up, and after about a week of recovery...I am STILL recovering.  It was an amazing weekend with amazing people, an amazing staff, volunteers, attendees, panels, panelists, artists, vendors, celebrities, etc...  I am still on cloud nine from the weekend.  

For those of you that didn't know, I was selected to do the badge art for this year's Denver Comic Con.  It was a huge boost to the profile that I have in the local industry, and in the industry in general.  There were 101,500 people wandering around Colorado Convention Center last weekend with my art hanging around their necks.  I can't believe it. 

The show was great for me, I was busy all weekend meeting people, shaking hands, signing badges, and selling badge related artwork.  I had trading cards, postcards, metal postcards, and the original inks framed with a metal print.  (I do still have a LOT of all of those left, so if you want any email me at jpeteranetz(at)gmail(dot)com

SPIDER-MAN!!! Denver Comic Con Badges Day 4

Today, I get the pleasure of sharing my FAVORITE of the badges.  The Spider-Man badge, for some reason really speaks to me.  It is also a favorite of many of the people to whom I show the badges.  I was also able to request which badge got this design...well, I didn't request it, my three older girls did.  They wanted this badge, and they wanted it as the kid's badge.  So this is the 3-Day, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday Kid's badge.  

The artwork was done solely by me (concept to completion).  I want to extend an invitation to the all the attendees to come visit me at booth 324 in merchant's mesa and get your badge signed.  I will have the original ink drawing of this badge framed and available that weekend with a one or eight hand printed and signed metal prints of the final image.  I will also have metal hand printed metal badges (eight total).  I will have 44 postcard size "polaroids" available (see my twitter feed @jpeteranetz for more on those).  And I will have trading card size images of each in packs of 5.  There will be special chase cards printed on silver, gold, and (if it works out) black foil card stock, and I will have sketch cards randomly inserted.

A wedding at Denver Comic Con

As a wedding gift for a couple getting married at Denver Comic Con, I was asked to do an ad for them in the program for the weekend.  It looks like the image above...duh.  Anyway, everyone at the convention is invited, and it's the last major event of the weekend.  I am looking forward to making it down there, if at all possible.  There are going to be Stormtroopers as ushers, and you may get to see a LOT of celebrities from the convention. Hope you all enjoy the artwork.

Denver Comic Con Review and Freddy Horse!

Well, so Denver Comic Con this year was a HUGE success!!!  The Magicians Must Die booth was busy all weekend and I, personally, didn't get a break on Saturday until almost 3:00pm.  I was doing a good amount of commissions, signing a LOT of Magicians Must Die, and did a good amount of sketch covers for Issue #1.  It was AMAZING!  I LOVED IT!
The image above is the pair image for Jason Bear.  I did 25 prints of each, I am keeping one of each for myself, I gave one of each to the LaGreca brothers, of H2Awesome and Rock Comic Con, and only have 5 of the Freddy Horse print left.  They were both HUGE successes!  Thank you to all the Denver natives and horror fans for enjoying the prints!

Denver Comic Con and Friday the 13th

Things you need to know.  First off, what's more terrifying than Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th?  Jason Voorhees as a BIG BLUE BEAR!!!  Ok, maybe not, but I thought it would be pretty cool and it is.  This is going to be an exclusive print for my booth (which happens to be number 928) at Denver Comic Con this year.  I will be at a table with my Handlordz, LLC, and the Magicians Must Die team.  As far as this piece goes, the show opens on Friday June 13th, so I thought this all but appropriate.  I do need to know...how'd the fog at the bottom work out?  

Strange Aeons, the Super Bowl, and my trip to Seattle

Well, I got it colored and submitted.  The cover to Strange Aeons #13 is finished.  I can not wait to see it in print.  Here is another preview from the cover.  I hope you dig it.
The Super Bowl is over, and the Broncos lost....BIG TIME, that being said, there is always next year....

Magazine Cover, Super Bowl, and Emerald City Comic Convention

This is a small preview of a cover I am working on for a magazine out of the Northwest.  Unfortunately, it's the same region as the team the Broncos are going to play on Sunday in the Super Bowl.  I am pulling hard for the Broncos...unless the editor of the magazine sees this, then GO SEAHA----Nope, nope, I just can't do it.  GO BRONCOS!!! TRAMPLE THOSE BIRDS LIKE THE IMAGINARY BIRDS THEY ARE!!!!!!!!!  That is all, thank you for the opportunity to draw this cover.  I'll tell you more about it when I can, but the cover, and feature article are about Magicians Must Die, so please pick it up!  We'll also be at Emerald City Comic Con at the end of March promoting the comic and the magazine!!!

MMD Print for Denver Comic Con

I know many of you have seen this before, but I am putting it back up because the Denver Comic Con is coming up this weekend and we'll have this print available at the HandLordz, LLC booth.  Which will be booth 530 on the floor this year.  We'll have 50 of these exclusively for this weekend.  They are all numbered and will be signed upon purchase.  They are on a high quality stock and will be bagged in a comic sleeve.  I will see you there!
